This post isn’t your typical Instant Pot Recipe post rather a DIY on How to Make Instant Pot Crayons.

How to Make Instant Pot Crayons

This Instant Pot DIY tutorial on How to Make Instant Pot Crayons is so easy and fun to involve your little ones in on the project.

How to Make Instant Pot Crayons

Step 1 – Take all of your broken crayons and peel the paper off.

Step 2 – Have your little ones sort them in color piles – a great STEAM activity!   I liked having the same scheme of color to create one color with different shades.

Step 3 – Fill your silicone mold with broken crayons.  You may have to break crayons into smaller sections to fit into your mold!

(there are so many cool silicone mold shapes!)

Step 4 – Place a cup of water in the bottom of your Instant Pot

Step 5 – Place your rack on the bottom of your Instant Pot

Step 6 – Set your silicone mold on the rack in the Instant Pot

Step 7 – Lock your lid into place, set your sealing valve to seal and use the steam setting for 2 minutes.  Let the pressure release naturally, on it’s own.Instant Pot Recipe

Step 8 – Remove the lid and let your new crayons set before you remove the silicone from your Instant Pot – unless you are brave, which I am not!

Step 9 – Once your crayons are completely cool, pop out of the mold and you have new shaped crayons equaling lots of fun!  oops real life photo – one splattered, I guess from the moisture build up…with an s.o.s. pad my pot cleaned up like a charm! DIY Instant Pot

I was inspired by Awe Filled Homemaker and she does her Instant Pot Crayons a bit differently as you can see.
