As a mom who likes to use gentle products on my little one, I’m so excited to be sponsored by and to be talking about Hyland’s Earache Drops. I hope you’ll hang with me and follow through to the end!

Our little E has had a ball this summer in and around all of the water activities, from swimming in her little kiddie pool here at our house to going to the beach. From taking swim lessons to heading to Maine for a week on the lake with our family. There is no doubt we are excited and this mama has already started making her list of what to pack! Yes, I’m one of those!
Since we were at the beach less than a month ago, I am trying to remember all of the must-haves or didn’t-haves on that trip to add to my list for the coming trip to Maine at the lake. I didn’t have 5-7 must-haves, so lesson learned!
- Beach Toys – I know it sounds simple but if your little one loves the sand as much as my toddler does, you’ll want the buckets and shovels because it kept her occupied for quite some time.
- Blanket- Don’t just bring towels – get a great blanket that covers a good area of sand, for your sake and the toddler’s sake.
- Umbrella- I know, I know, it sounds cliché but it’s a lifesaver in that heat and sun
- Rash Guard – You know, those swim shirts with SPF sunblock built in them. I had to give you a definition of what a rash guard was because I mentioned it the other day to a friend and she had no clue what I was talking about. I have found the long sleeve ones and I’m in love with those because E will wear them and it protects so much of her little body without having to constantly rub on sunscreen!
- Hyland’s Earache Drops – For those times that they get water in their ears, when we didn’t know it. The drops help relieve symptoms of earaches from non-chlorinated water. I love that it is a natural homeopathically prepared blend of botanicals and minerals, and that it’s so much gentler for our littles. Believe me, this will be a “save the day” moment when you realize that you need it, after a long day.
- Snacks – Here’s my tip on snacks – buy individual sized snacks or you can individually size it yourself. Who wants sandy and wet hands in a large bag of cookies? NO ONE! I know, I know…it sounds simple and I’m not the first to mention it, but it’s true.
- Hands Free Bag- In other words – a backpack! Be as hands free with your bag and belongings as you possibly can. Why? Let’s face it – your toddler will not walk too far in that sand by herself. As an adult walking in the sand to the water, it feels like I’ve just run a marathon with 30 lbs of stuff on my back and a 25 lb toddler. SO not fun, but so worth the memories.
- Sun Hat – Just like the rash guard, this goes a long way in keeping the sun off of your little one’s face/ears/neck. I really am so grateful that my little E will keep a hat on (and actually loves wearing one). I still put a really good sunscreen on her but I don’t feel so badly about having to reapply it every so often and I just stay paranoid about it.
- Water-You need a LOT of water. Keep those babies and YOURSELF hydrated. Like majorly hydrated! I like to ice water bottles down and just let them drink as much as they want and stay on top of it like crazy.
- Lotion/Aloe -Nothing is better than getting a good bath, washing off all of that sand from every inch of your body…and lathering up in a nice cool lotion with aloe on it. Even if you aren’t sun burned (which hopefully you aren’t) it just feels good and is refreshing. Choose one that is a good fit for you and your little ones.
