ABC Preschool STEAM Activities
Preschool Apple Lesson plan
Use this apple lesson plan to guide you along and compliment your preschool apple curriculum to not only teach the letter A but to encourage hands on learning for the early learners you are teaching.
We are focusing on letter A through these preschool STEAM activities. Engaging our little preschool minds on the letter A through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.
Preschool Apple Science
Teach preschool apple science through reading the book “How do Apples Grow?”. It’s one of the best I’ve read and keeps the preschoolers attention quite well. It’s a bright and colorful book – let your preschooler hold an apple while you go through the book so they can engage with this hands on activity.
After you step through the book snag this Printable Worksheet and help your preschooler label the parts of an apple.

Apple Technology Activities for Preschoolers
As part of our technology activity for our Letter A theme we jumped over to the handy dandy youtube and watched a video on apple trees which incorporated science through our technology.
I liked this particular video because it’s actually humans talking – which my little loves as well!
Apple Engineering Activities for Preschoolers
Through our apple towers preschoolers will be amazed while having fun. Learning how to engineer through this apple activity encourages the preschooler to think, engage and problem solve.
Materials you need and a step by step on how to teach your preschooler to engineer an apple tower go HERE!
Apple Art Activity
Each preschooler will need a red, green and brown crayon to color their science of an apple worksheet. Let them be creative through their coloring and if they are brave enough let them draw and color their own apple on the back of this printable worksheet.
Apple – STEAM Math Activities
The math for this apple activity was simply incorporated into counting all of our apple pieces from the engineering activity! This was quite fun as they sorted into stacks their pieces. We counted them one by one then I had them put them into piles of tens and we counted by tens. My little one is just learning how to count by 10’s but introducing the concept through this hands on activity engaged her even more!
We are a husband and wife team, pairing our strengths together to teach our preschooler in the most fun and engaging way we possibly can. The mister is a high school educator at Northlake Christian school in Covington Louisiana and over the Innovation Center, which is all things STEAM. I am a SAHM that blogs pretty much everything we do in our little paradise, from what we eat, to where we travel to how we teach our little one. We hope you are inspired to incorporate STEAM into learning with your children.
