As Mother’s Day gets closer, I can’t help but reflect on the impact my mom has had on my life. Through the years she’s been everything I needed along the way and more. Having a mom that has always put her family first has impacted me in ways she’ll never know, nor I may never know. Yet I’m so grateful for it. Now I get to not only celebrate her on Mother’s Day, but I get to celebrate with her.
Since becoming a mom it’s amazing what I’ve learned in these two short years. Yet I know I have so many more life lessons to learn. Not only the things I’ve learned about myself, but learned about my little one, caring for my family, nurturing my home, being the mother I should be and more. I’m so thankful to have the model of a mom that I have. Through the years she has been the perfect mom that I have needed, the role model I’ve wanted, the friend that has always been there for me and the grandmother that fits so perfectly to our little miss E.
On the other side I’m also so very grateful for a mother-in-law who was the perfect mother to my husband. Had it not been for her time, love and effort in raising her son, I wouldn’t have the man I have today. I’m forever grateful.
Mothers truly impact the next generation. Some impact it in positive ways and others in negative. I truly believe we as mothers have the ability to share love with our families and cultivate a peaceful home where our little ones will grow up secure and confident.
I’m blessed to have a Mother to celebrate this year, a mother-in-law to celebrate and to celebrate being a mother to my little one.
Brunch is something that is fun and easy to prepare for. So my little E and I decided to invite my mom over for a little brunch just the three of us to celebrate life and relationships! I knew I wanted to keep things simple but include things I knew we all enjoyed! Thanks to the Tyson Loves Mom campaign… I snagged a few ingredients at Walmart and planned our morning. On my list was:
- Sara Lee® Pound Cake All Butter
- Fresh Berries
- Jimmy Dean® Regular Premium Pork Sausage
- Cheddar Cheese
- Biscuit Mix
- Thomas® Pre-sliced Plain Bagels 6 ct.
- Whipped Cream Cheese
- Fresh Flowers
Seriously y’all, that’s it!
I decorated our table, oh so pretty, because we girls like pretty, yet simple. I wanted our time to be more about being together rather than slaving in the kitchen or worrying about so many details!
Berry Pound Cake – slice your pound cake and top with fresh berries. If you are like my little E you won’t even want your cake topped with fruit!!
Sausage Balls- Mix your pork sausage together with a cup of grated cheddar cheese and two cups of biscuit mix. Pinch and roll into approx 1″ balls. Place on a cookie sheet and back for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
Bagels- Pop these pre sliced bagels into your toaster oven and top with some yummy whipped cream cheese. I chose to get a flavored cream cheese!
Have fun and leave a comment on this post telling me what’s on your brunch menu!
