Fall Senior Pictures is the perfect time to get some unique senior pictures.  Here are senior picture outfit ideas along with senior prop ideas.

It’s Fall y’all! For some of you, the leaves are changing; it’s definitely sweater weather, time to bring out the blankets, scarves, boots, etc.! If you live in Texas like me, the light is changing, we have the tease of cold in the morning, we are choosing to dress like Fall even though it is 80 in the middle of the day and we don’t care, because it is Fall and it just feels better!!

This is such a fun time to take senior photos! What girl doesn’t love leggings, boots, cute scarves, all the layers, the pretty colors, etc.?  I know I do and I know my girls do too! Here are some helpful tips for helping your girls pick out the perfect outfits for their Fall Senior Session.

#1 Be Yourself: Encourage your girls to choose outfits that they love and feel beautiful in. Just because they are having their pictures done  doesn’t mean they need to try to be something they are not. Be yourself and let the true you shine through! This is always my number 1 thing I tell them!

#2 Accessorize: Adding fun and cute accessories can really make an outfit pop, sometimes my girls borrow my earrings or boots if they forget something, so it is nice to have some accessories on hand to provide finishing touches! Most of my girls show up with bags of Kendra Scott jewelry though, so it’s not really an issue. Her jewelry is great to provide a pop of color!

#3 Layer: Layers make for quick outfit changes and can give you a couple of different looks with one outfit! Play with the scarf, take off a jacket and hang it over your shoulder, carry it with you, etc. to add a dramatic and fun feel to their photos!

#4 Color Tones: I love this red top. It stands out so well in the field and just makes her stand out so much! As a photographer, you know that some colors just do not photograph well and some backgrounds just will not work as they cast color onto your seniors face, so be sure to choose good locations that go with the colors your seniors choose. Steer them away from colors that may cause their skin to look orange.

#5 Move: Fall and Spring are so different- in the Spring, you have dresses and skirts and shorts, but in the Fall, your senior will be pretty well covered from head to toe. Encourage them to use layers, like dresses with tights, kimonos over t-shirt dresses, etc. so that your girls can still spin and show movement with their outfits!  I love to capture movement and who doesn’t love the freedom of  dancing in a field or spinning their skirt around?!

#6 Shoes: Boots, Booties and Wedges! Girls love shoes and let’s face it, they have a lot! Sometimes shoes just make you feel good about your outfit and can really stand out in their pictures! I love the Minnetonka’s and other booties the girls are wearing these days (I wear them too, let’s be honest!).

#7 Mixed Seasons:  And if you live in Texas like me, your girls are probably going to want to wear shorts- I say dress it up with boots, fun jewelry, scarves and fall colors for more of a Fall look!
