Organizing and cleaning out is like therapy to me.  I love it.

So I want to pass on my best tips for you as you delve into organizing and cleaning out your pantry.  It doesn’t have to be a daunting task, rather think of it as a success in the end and you’ll know what you have in your pantry as well as where to find it.

Before we dive right into organizing I want to encourage you to snag all of your Box Tops for Education off of your packaging before you chunk it in the organizing process.  With a husband who is an educator we are all about any way we can help out his school and one way as a family we can do that is by collecting Box Tops for Education!

Box Tops now has an app where you can earn even more cash to help out your local school.  If you don’t have a direct connection to a school, find a neighbor or friend who does and use them as your channel for giving back through Box Tops.

Box Tops for Education® Bonus App.  It’s free and as easy to use.  Here’s how it works:

    • Buy: Find offers. Buy Products.
    • Scan: Scan your receipt.
    • Earn: Watch earnings stack up.

      • You can earn Bonus Box Tops in the Box Tops Bonus App in combination with the on-pack Box Tops clips and any other coupon, discount, store program or promotion.
      • Buy 5 participating items + Scan receipt with Box Tops Bonus App = Earn $5 (50 Bonus Box Tops)
        • Offer available through 1/31/18

So for instance, we snagged 5 of our favorites at our local Walmart:

  • Honey Nut Cheerios™
  • Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks
  • Nature Valley™ Oats N Honey Granola Bars
  • Totino’s™ Combination Pizza Party Pack
  • Old El Paso™ Taco Dinner Kit

Now we can scan our receipt and earn $5 (50 Bonus Box Tops)

**Check ALL of your packaging before we jump into organizing, and clip those Box Tops**

STEP 1: Take everything out of your pantry/cabinet

STEP 2: Throw away any expired food or food your family won’t eat or doesn’t like.

STEP 3: Place all items together by categories.  i.e. pasta, cereal, snacks, canned goods, spices, condiments, baking supplies

STEP 4: Use baskets- I like using baskets to place my loose items in i.e. spices, baking supplies.  It keeps those small items together and from rolling around and getting behind other things, then I can’t see it.

When I purchase baskets or boxes I make sure they are wired or clear containers so I can see in/through to what is in the container

STEP 5: I like to take my dry goods and place them in a clean clear container for storing in my pantry.  Again I choose a clear container so I can see through it, although I do label my containers as well.  Because lets be real…I can’t tell the difference between pancake mix and flour!

STEP 6: Place all items back in your pantry by category and within reach of your most used items.

Tips:

#1 Using over the door baskets is a huge space saver- Plus then my little one knows where her snacks are and what she can have.

#2 Use hooks on your doors.  You can hang so many things on these little hooks…for me I love having my measuring spoons and cups hanging.  Again it’s just a great space saver and maximizing all of the space you can.

#3 Stay organized.  Simply put things back where you got it.  It really is that simple and it really does work.

Great tips! Love the idea of baskets you can see through. No over buying or missing out on important snacks. #client
