Engage in hands on learning with fun fall STEM Activities centered around Thanksgiving STEM Activities including science, technology, engineering and math.

What is STEM activities?
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Incorporating these four areas of learning into activities engages your early learners to become great thinkers and problem solvers in the world around them. Science and Math is all around us in the world we live in, teaching our little ones to engage in engineering and problem solving or discovering a fun science process through Thanksgiving science experiments is simply fun – all while teaching their little minds to think and discover.
Through these STEM Activities for Preschoolers have fun, let them engage, discover and create!

Thanksgiving Science Experiments
Pumpkin Sun Catcher – Go outside on a gorgeous fall day with your preschooler/s and have them all collect nature items to add to their preschool pumpkin sun catcher. (encourage flat pieces of nature!) Take your time to discuss the color of the flowers, if the items were small, if the nature item was flat etc. Take time to discuss this nature, adding simple science to this activity, with your preschooler.

Fluffy Pumpkin Slime – Slime is one of our favorite science activities and we like to make it holiday-themed when we can! This fluffy pumpkin slime is a perfect Fall and Halloween science activity with kids! We’ll even show you how to turn your slime into a jack-o-lantern pumpkin!

Pumpkin Volcano – To this day we still love all sorts of erupting chemistry experiments. The amazement of a fizzy reaction is the perfect way to capture a kid’s love of science, so why not encourage it with this fun pumpkin science activity with a volcano theme.

Real Pumpkin Slime – We always like to include a bit of homemade slime science around here. Slime really does make for an excellent chemistry demonstration and kids love it too!

Easy Science Experiment for Fall – I love doing easy science experiments because kids love them and I feel learn a lot from them. They are always determined to find a solution to the challenge they are given. Today they were faced with the challenge of creating a structure to hold their baby pumpkin in the water.

Dancing Acorns – With fall weather finally here, we are enjoying some fall activities. I did this easy science experiment with all of my kindergarten students. We went outside to enjoy the weather and I told students that today they would get to see acorns dance!

Does a Pumpkin Float? Pumpkin science. There are a lot of very fun math and science activities you can do with a pumpkin. Talk about how different things will sink or float. We threw different things in the bath tub (I really shouldn’t have filled it that full, but live and learn). They had lots of fun figuring out what each thing was going to do. The boat floated, Joker slowly sank
Autumn Leaf Vein Science- Decorating autumn fall leaves: fun STEAM (or STEM + Art) idea: learning about nature and leaf biology.

Leaf STEM Absorption– This science meets art project is almost magical, at least that’s what my kids thought as they watched fall colors transform their plain white coffee filter into a work of art. It’s an easy kid activity fit for an autumn day. In fact, it’s so easy that you will probably end up with a big leafy pile in no time. You should have all the supplies and I have provided a free leaf template, so the next thing you need to do is gather the kids and start crafting.
