Are you technically challenged? When it comes to computers and software and learning curves and editing and downloading and uploading and layers…and well you get my point, the list goes on and on. It seems like it’s a constant learning curve to keep up with technology these days. Well I’ve saved some of the best for last, so hang with me!
I am no pro when it comes to photography software and editing software. I am a pro when it comes to knowing a software that is easy, user friendly and meets my needs in order to accomplish the goal I need on my images.
Today I want to introduce you to a new software that makes editing a family session super easy. I’m only going to demonstrate on one image, just for ease and sake of time!
First you simply need to jump over to: BeFunky where you can sign up for the photo editor program
Grab you an account so you can follow along with me through these steps and see the ease I’m talking about and highlighting!
Right away I love the ease of setting up my account and connecting with my Facebook. Why? I don’t have to remember yet another password to a website! Ok, call me lazy but it’s true!
And about as simple as setting up my account I was able to upload my jpg images into the program. EASY!
SIDE NOTE!! If you make an oops, your whole life isn’t lost! There is simply a back-up button–BAM you’re right back to where you were!
So I simply wanted to do some enhancement edits on this family picture. Here are a few highlights I love about the BeFunky photo editor.
Uploading my image is just a few clicks and when it’s uploaded I see it right away in the edit menu. On my left popped up the basic editing that I would want anyway. I didn’t have to search high and low for a crop tool, levels etc. It was in my first column to the left! There were a few tools I wasn’t sure what they did, I played around with them and again the beautiful thing it’s so forgiving, I wasn’t stuck with whatever button/edit I had just pressed. If I didn’t like it I didn’t have to keep it!
As you go down the left hand side you see the icons…again such easy navigation and self explanatory. This first column is your basic editing/enhancing tools. Again I love because it’s easy!
You can do all of the basics you will ever want! You can hit the Auto Enhance button for a quick edit that you might love. Although it still gives you the freedom to take FULL control…and if you’re like me I’m a control freak and I want to take full control!!!!
You have eveyr basic you need.
Exposure. So if your picture is a little darker than you prefer, bump it up. If it’s brighter than you like EASILY bump it down.
Contrast. I love contrast to just richen your photo a bit. Play with it and sometimes go a bit further than you really think and you’ll be surprised how much better it looks.
Highlights. If there is a picture you think is a little too bright you can play with highlights to darken them or vice versa!
Shadows. Shadows if you feel are too dark bright them up a bit, easily!
but then…
then there is another side bar that has “touch-ups” These are GREAT and AWESOME for those picky clients that would rather you whiten their teeth or skinny them up! With a few adjustments you’ll be able to do that for them! I’m not usually too keen on doing this on a regular basis for my clients but there are times when I’ve been asked that I oblige. So having the tools handy is super nice!
As you continue down the icons of the side bar there is everything else you’ll ever want to edit with! You can add text, create black and whites among other edits, you can get some groovy looking stuff on your pictures if you’re looking to live on the edge a little with your image!
All in all I love the simplicity. My life is cluttered enough and I am trying to simplify daily and I love this program just for that.
Once I have gotten my image exactly like I want it I can simply save it to my computer, Facebook, google, BeFunky photo editor and more!
Now are you ready for the good part?
BeFunky not only offers a powerful, yet easy-to-use Photo Editor, they also have a Graphic Designer where you can easily make graphics for your blog, social media, and more.
When I started my photography business I was the one constantly looking and trying to learn how to make Ah-mazing looking graphics to promote my mini sessions, spring sessions, promos etc. I was never the best at it. I always felt like my graphic work was blah…and well it was!!! I tried hard with photoshop and layers but…well yeh it was rough. Now with be funky you can do amazing looking graphics right in this software!! They have templates to boot! Ahhhhh….where were they 8 years ago when I needed them and couldn’t understand layers and everything else in the photo editing world?!?!?!?!
Are you with me?!?!?
Well problem solved- you can make beautiful graphics and have them look like a pro designed them…well because a pro did over at be funky!
I MADE THIS ONE!!!! Literally took me about 2 minutes to make the collage and maybe 3 minutes to create the graphic!!!
Lastly…and when I say lastly I still haven’t touched the program and telling you all it can do…but I want to leave you with…BeFunky even offers a Collage Maker as part of their all-in-one Creative Platform. You can access it by going to www.befunky.com and selecting Collage Maker at the top of the screen, on the left.
you can E-A-S-I-L-Y…let me repeat easily make photo collages! Again where were they 8 years ago when I was trying to do this for myself, my blog and my clients?!?!?! Well, they are here for you NOW.
I literally drag and drop and it’s done. If I don’t like the way I have placed the images I just drag them to the square I want to swap with. EASY PEASY! Sheesh!
