Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby

That is always a desire and motto of a mom.  I think we do all we can, that is within us, to accomplish that goal.

When I was pregnant with our little E I found that taking the right Prenatal Vitamins was important at the same time I also found if I ate protein throughout the day it really helped keep my energy up, as well.

Did you know that…

You should start taking a prenatal 6 months before you start trying to get pregnant.  Nature Made Prenatal Vitamins can be found at your local Sam’s club or online.

Prenatal Vitamins…

  • Provides essential vitamins and minerals (before and during pregnancy) including Folic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Iodine, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D3†
  • Provides 200 mg DHA which may help support fetal brain and eye development †
  • “Free from”:
    • No Synthetic Dyes
    • No Yeast or Starch
    • No Artificial Flavors
    • Gluten Free
    • Clinically proven absorption of Folic Acid and Iron

So today I’m sharing my go to Protein snack that I kept in the fridge at all times.  If I was going to be gone throughout an entire day I’d also pack these with some water to keep me going between meals and if I felt I just needed a quick Pick-me-upper.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Ball Recipe

1/3 c. honey
1/2 c peanut butter
1 c. oats, old fashioned
1/2 c. chocolate chips
2/3 c. coconut
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp. protein powder
1/2 c. flax seed (optional)

Mix all ingredients together (I usually use my hands, clean hands that is!). Roll into bite size balls. Stick in the fridge or freezer and grab one as needed!
It really is THAT easy!
