Looking for a fall sayings for signs, a clever thanksgiving word or autumn words. Here you can choose from over 90 fall words.

As we enter the fall season…I’m gathering my list of ideas for my hand lettering projects while the leaves are changing outside, our coffee choices are shifting, the colors in our home are changing with each piece of pumpkin decor and even our fall vocabulary maybe changing! It’s one of my favorite seasons of the year! I think a reprieve from the summer time heat here in south Mississippi but also I know that Christmas is around the corner!

I began my own research of fall words in an effort to create some printable worksheets for kids and I noticed there wasn’t a solid comprehensive list. My sister makes hand painted wooden signs and she asked me for some ideas for some cute fall quotes and thanksgiving words – so I knew if both she and I were in this hunt, there had to be others.

I hope if you are on the search for fall words that this list will help you in your journey and search! Whether you strictly just need one word or you find a word that inspires you…to then use that word to spark some creativity juices in you for whatever project you are working on next.

To continue our Fall Words List I wanted to sub- categorize a section into specifically Thanksgiving words. I know I missed some basic words like bread, gravy and casserole but if you need to expand this list into the food category go for it! I added a few foods to our list but not extensively!

If you are using these fall and Thanksgiving words for education then Kim over at Write Shop has a great post! She inspires us around the idea of having kids create a word bank – they can use this in multiple ways, but I love the idea of:
“A storage place for writing ideas when the child is writing about a particular topic. He can gather from a word bank of themed words to create a story or poem.”

I love encouraging kids to write and gather their own inspiration and this activity could truly inspire a reluctant writer to get creative!

A few other ways you can use this Fall Words list would be: To hand paint fall signs with a saying, create your own word search puzzle, inspire a young writer to create their own bank of fall words, create any fall printable for young learners, journaling and the list goes on!

Cute Fall Quotes

Here, I wanted to add a few cute fall quotes that we’ve found to use within our fall crafts and fall signs – even used some of these quotes for a Thanksgiving game!!
I know many use these quotes on paintings, t-shirts/graphics, coffee mugs and the list goes on! I don’t claim to be a quote junkie but I do love a good quote and I love to save the ones I see that inspire me! I definitely see this list growing with time!
