God’s Grace – Definition
Let’s start with the basics of basics…growing up if I asked what a word meant my parents always sent me straight to go look it up in the dictionary so I could define it. Let’s start there today as well…

The true definition of grace is: a : unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification. b : a virtue coming from God. c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance – 1828 Merriam-Webster Dictionary
You maybe asking yourself the question – What is grace? Through my own personal studying there are so many examples, principles and bible verses about grace. As I share with you what I’ve learned about God’s grace I hope you walk away having a better understanding of what grace is not only in the bible but in your own personal life as well.
That alone is a beautiful definition to me…yet still so much depth my mind can’t comprehend!
A simple way I remember a definition of what grace means is by an acronym.
G- God’s
R- Riches
A- At
C- Christ’s
E- Expense
Understanding the grace of God is a next step that is a process over time through your Christian growth. No doubt you might have the knowledge of of God’s Grace but to understand the grace of God will come with time, wisdom and life lessons learned. Many of you reading this I am sure are already on that side of life, learning from life lessons, observing others and through wisdom can gain understanding.

Scriptures on Grace – KJV
These bible verses about grace that I’m giving you today are only a means to bring you into the word of God in a much deeper and meaningful way. Use these scriptures to mediate on, write out in a journal, memorize with your daily devotion or even post on the walls of your home. Each one of these ways of learning the scripture is biblical – so do what best fits you. If you do better by writing out scripture to mediate upon it, do that…don’t compare yourself to someone that memorizes everything. We are all made uniquely by God and use those talents and gifts He’s given you to the best of your ability, don’t compare yourself to the way others learn!
Grace Quotes
I thought it would be fun to also throw in a few of my favorite “grace quotes”. Many of these I have written in the front of my bible or even in journals throughout the years. I love a good quote – you might call me a quote junkie!!! Over the past few months I’ve also enjoyed watercolor hand lettering and I find me using this hobby to write these quotes on homemade cards or gifts.
Through the past years I’ve seen these quotes come through different social media channels, I’ve heard them in church services, various podcasts or sermons, read them in books or even possibly just heard them from a wise person I’ve talked to.

17- Hebrews 13: 9 – For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace
There are many more verses in the bible that are centered around the idea and principle of grace, but the word “grace” isn’t in the scripture verse itself. These can be found with a little bit more study around the topic of grace – here you’ll find a few around the principle of grace.
One of my favorite hymns that talks about grace: Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin!
As well as the famous hymn – Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see – the remaining lyrics are just as beautiful!
I hope these verses on grace has been a blessing to you. If so share them with someone who needs to be reminded that we have a merciful and gracious Heavenly Father, for by grace are we saved because we can’t do it ourselves.
