Incorporating swim games for your toddlers in the pool will not only build their confidence in swimming but it also creates a fun environment to learn in. They will have so much fun playing these pool games when in reality it’s encouraging them to learn to swim! What better win, right?

Swim Safety is of course the most important aspect you can teach your child while around water. We’ve been using SwimWays products for the past 4 summers and couldn’t be more confident in their products and pleased. While playing these games we use the swim trainer life jacket , which can be purchased online at Amazon or found at Target and Walmart. These trainer life jackets are U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device for kids. Plus comfy for the kids, easy for moms/dads to buckle from the back where it’s out of reach for the kids!

I’ve stepped through the age appropriate Swim Steps Program –> here. This program includes three levels which correspond with your child’s age and the correct product designed for training them to swim with their given abilities and/or age.
Swim Games for Toddlers
1- Treasure Hunt
This game is one of our favorites! Using the SwimWays diving toys (which can sink or float, which is perfect for toddlers that don’t go under water yet) we’ll call out either a color that is on the toy, kind of like “I-spy” or one of the characters on the toy and see who can find that one first.

2- Kick Race
Using the SwimWays kick board set a starting “line” and an ending “line”. Usually we start at the ladder and kick to the other side of the pool (depending on how wide your pool is, obviously!) Whoever gets to the ending line first wins! This is a great way to teach your toddler to swim, float and kick!
SwimWays kick boards are so sturdy and buoyant for those little swimmers plus they come in some pretty amazing graphics that kids will love!

3- Throw and Race
Using the SwimWays toys from game #1 – fix the toys to where they are floating -rather than sinking like a diving toy… throw them randomly around the pool and race to see who can get the most in an allotted amount of time.

What are some of your favorite pool games you play with your kids and family?
