It’s the time of year we are all gearing up for summer fun and water activities. This means we are looking for the perfect swimwear the perfect sunscreen and the perfect pool/beaches! Right?
For the past three years we’ve fallen in love with our favorite sun protection swimwear – SwimZip. I can’t shout this company any louder from the mountain tops! Hands down I know we are protected when we are in our SwimZip swim wear – not only protected but the best quality and the most adorable prints to choose from!
Ways to Protect Your Child from the Sun
So today I wanted to share a few ways to protect your child from the sun…these are basic concepts but worthy to be reminded of as we enter the swim and sun season.
1- Wear Swimzip Swimwear which has UPF 50+ sun protection! Not only are they GREAT protection, which I LOVE…they are adorable, in fashion and super affordable! We couldn’t love them more…and this year my little and I had a little coordinating set – all of the Mama heart feels!
2- Find shade! Go out early morning or late afternoon…if that’s not conducive to your schedule find shade during the peak hours of sun which is 10am – 4pm. If you have to haul an umbrella or a tent, it’s worth it, I promise! There are so many great beach options for additional shade – find what fits your needs and don’t be afraid to make the haul!
3- Wear broad spectrum sunscreen! This bears without repeating, but please…please apply sunscreen to you and your littles. There is nothing worse than a sun burn (especially the first day of vacation or summer vacation time)…protect your skin.
4- Reapply Sunscreen at least every two hours to help maintain protection!
These are just simple steps that you can help prevent skin cancer. Start your little ones young with wearing a rash guard and staying covered, get them used to it and help protect them.
What are other ways you help protect your littles from the sun?
Hi I’m Erin a Southern mama from South Mississippi, owner and chief editor of Sixth Bloom, a blog helping moms use their camera to capture their families and adventures, talking all things home, parenting and our travel adventures as a family. You will find me living life to the fullest with my mister (aka husband) and our little three year old preschooler, Miss E, in our house we spent building for three years, doing all of the labor and work ourselves and paying for it as we went! We are blessed beyond measure and praise the Lord for all He’s done for us, through us and with us.
