checklist for hostingAre you hosting a holiday party whether for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years?  You know with hosting comes a lot of responsibility which sometimes can translate into stress.  Let’s be real, right?  So therefore we get burdened down and sometimes don’t want to be the hostess because the pressure is to be the hostess with the most-ess!  I love hosting and having company but I admit it can stress me out.  Does it you?hosting for thanksgiving

One method I have found that really helps me to stress less is my checklist.  If you’ve been around here for any length of time you know I’m a huge advocate to pen, paper and making lists!  They keep me organized, focused and provide a way to keep my mind off of details.  When the details are written down I don’t have to keep them packed in my mind. So today I’m sharing with you my favorite piece of advice…because I think when I’m a guest it’s my favorite gesture my hostess shows me!   So maybe I’m a little bias to my favorite piece of advice!

Here it is:

Send your guests home with some goodies.

Ok now that wasn’t profound was it?  or was it for you?  No really.  Who doesn’t love to have some goodies to take home and enjoy.  It’s like you get to enjoy that time together a wee bit longer as you linger in the memories spent together, while eating yummy treats!   I have found the Holiday TakeAlongs by Rubbermaid at Walmart are the perfect fit for these treats!!  they have a tight seal, microwavable, top rack dishwasher safe and freezer safe. holiday hostess checklistSo no matter what I send home with my guests whether it be treats they can freeze for later or leftovers they can heat up the next day, they are good to go!  Not to mention no hand washing- they can stick them in the dishwasher!!  The limited edition red, green and prints for the holidays and will be available in-store: 10/29 – 12/24.  To get some holiday inspiration click here!

What a great idea! I host every year AND cook most of the food. Thank you for the checklist! (client)
