Are you prepping for a family photoshoot and looking for ideas on what to wear for a family photoshoot? Toddlers can be super easy to prep for especially following these 10 toddler photoshoot outfit ideas. Start with what are your best colors to wear for family pictures and then start picking out the exact what!
When prepping for your child’s picture session you maybe asking yourself…WHAT SHOULD THEY WEAR?!?! Let’s admit, it’s easier to pick out outfits for your children than it is for yourself, right? At least I think so!!
As many families are prepping for holiday photos, just as I have been for our little one… Carter’s was where it was my one-stop-holiday-shop for her! We were able to get some cozy and warm girl pajamas along with a few outfits that can be dressed up for occasions or casual. They are equally cute and comfy for her and not to mention affordable price point for mama and daddy!
Here are a few tips that I hope will help guide you along the way of choosing the perfect outfit for a family photo session.
1. Think of the Toddlers Personality!
Choose outfits based off of your toddlers personality. I know it gets tricky the older your children get and they have opinions but try to incorporate their likes/dislikes into their clothing yet keep it tasteful because these pictures will be on your walls for years to come!
2. What are the best colors to wear for family pictures?
I know for my little one I can already tell what colors I love on her! Every time she wears certain colors it will make her eyes stand out or I find myself looking at her and loving the outfit on her…only to realize what I really love is that particular color on her!
3. What is the vibe of your session?
Take into consideration the location of the photo shoot as well as the vibe. If you are going to be in a city with an urban feel consider coordinating outfits to that. You wouldn’t want a lace dress in an urban setting nor would you want neon colors and bold clothes in a beautiful elegant chair in front of an oak tree. It just doesn’t match! So consider this idea when choosing outfits.
4. Consider the weather!
Just because you love an outfit doesn’t mean the weather will be conducive. If it’s freezing cold and you don’t have your little one dressed warm and appropriately I can guarantee you that they won’t be too cooperative and the opposite if you’re on a hot beach and you have them dressed in sweaters/boots and scarves…I can guarantee your session won’t be the most enjoyable for you, them or the photographer!
