Our little E is like a little fish, she’s not afraid of the water. Which in my mind is good and bad! In a good way because we love the water so much I don’t want her to be afraid of it and never want to get in and enjoy it. In a bad way, there is no fear and because she’s so young we have to really watch her. Seeing it’s the start of the summer here in South Mississippi we already have our baby pool out and she’s been in it quite a bit, splashing and dumping buckets of water…I don’t fill it all of the way up just so she can sit and play in it. If we have the water hose out, she’s all about that and ends up soaked from head to toe. It’s fun, especially on our hot and humid days.
Last week we were on a little Mother Daughter beach trip and our condo had three big pools and a baby pool. She wasn’t too sure of the big pools at first, so I let her process it and take her time getting into the pool. After a bit though, I knew she was fine and ready so I just got her in and she fussed a little but once she realized everything was ok, she was having a ball! All she talked about was the “wah-ter”!
Each year the third Saturday in May is National Learn to Swim Day and Swim Ways is the leader in helping children learn to swim. This year it’s May 20th! It’s so important as parents that we educate ourselves on swim and water safety so we can in turn teach our children! We have our little E enrolled in swim lessons for the week following National Learn to Swim Day! What better way to celebrate this day, right?
I’m also excited to share with you our experience with the Baby Spring Float on my post following this blog post. So stay tuned!! In the meantime these awesome floats can be found online or at Target stores! As I was carrying our float from pool to condo then from pool to beach or pool to pool or where ever, you get the point. (I went with me everywhere!) I got asked multiple times where I found this float and complimented on how nice it was. I couldn’t brag on it enough because it’s just that! In my opinion it’s the perfect baby/toddler float for so many good reasons!
