Preschool Morning Routine – Free Printable
Here in just a few short weeks we will start our Preschool Homeschool schedule and routine. As my husband, who is a high school teacher, heads back to his work/school…then myself and our little E will start back to our schedule and routine. It’s a very bittersweet time…we sure do miss our Daddy being home…but deep down inside I thrive on a solid schedule and routine…so I’m looking forward to getting back into that.
I’ve had many ask me what our routine looks like…especially as I do some simple “school” with our little E. We are only getting our feet wet for what’s to come as she grows and gets older! She asks for us to do her workbook and “school” almost every day…so why not oblige and let her soak in all she can – because she’s truly a sponge right now. I’m sharing our FREE printable with you that you can fully customize for your routine – see down below to snag your own copy.
Of course the highlight of her morning routine is SNACK TIME! She’s a girl after my own heart!!! I like to choose special snacks for our learning time as well as have a designated basket she can choose what she’d like. Nice!® products from Walgreens are convenient for me to grab as well as I know the quality is superb. Giving us a balanced food that is great tasting with three tiers: base, premium, organic! I love their individually sized grab-and-go snacks i.e. our favorites:
- Nice! Veggie Straws 6-Pack Lunch Pack
- Nice! Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie 6-Pack Lunch Pack
- Nice! Mini Chocolate Chip Cookie 6-Pack Lunch Pack
They have so much more i.e. her favorite – • Nice! Chocolate Vanilla Sandwich Crème Cookie and Nice! Organic Sea Salt Popcorn
A simple way to live better, Nice!® delivers un-compromised quality and taste.
Ok…so what does our Preschool Morning Routine look like?
We start with her making her bed while I’m prepping breakfast. Once this mama has her coffee in hand and “E” has finished her breakfast we go straight into getting dressed and brushing her teeth. The latest and greatest news in our world is that “E” can change herself and that’s ‘big stuff’ for her!
Reading has always been a HUGE part of our daily lives and we LOVE reading and love books. So reading is our first activity of the day. Sometimes that means her looking at books on her own and then I join her, it just depends on what I need to get done…but most mornings that’s both her and I sitting down to read together.
We then go straight into her Bible memory and reciting her verses and working on new verses. Last year (as a 2 year old) she learned over 30 verses. This year my goal (as a 3 year old) is to memorize at least two a week…goals, right?!
Now it’s her workbook time which she loves too. We work about 3-4 pages, depending on her mood and attention span. If she’s “not into it” we’ll just do 1-2 and move on…sometimes we’ve done more than our average too. I just play it by ear each day! There is NO reason to push, rush or make anyone frustrated at this age!
Snack time! Usually during her workbook I’ll let her choose her snack and munch while she colors, counts and traces her letters.
Other activities: Some days after her workbook we’ll add an activity i.e. a math- hands on activity, coloring, painting or whatever else has struck me. This is more of a “free time play”. If I don’t have anything planned or in mind I’ll let her do puzzles on her own or just play with whatever she wants. Play is still SO great for development and learning too. Many times I look at her play as some of the best learning she does all day!
This coming year I’ll be adding library time to our schedule, we’ll still do our once a week STEAM Activity for Preschool and I’m sure along the way I’ll be inspired to add more as she soaks in all of this goodness.
