Artifact Uprising // Modern Wood Calendar

If you haven’t already jumped on the Artifact Uprising train, the time has come! They are a young company with a deeply devoted fanbase, thanks to their exceptional products, warm customer service, and heartstring-pulling tagline: “…inspired by the disappearing beauty of the tangible”. They have quickly become a much-loved paper business in a tech-heavy world.

I have ordered several things from Artifact over the past few years, but this was the first calendar I made. It can be tiresome, having to look at screens all the time, so having a tangible calendar on my wall (or on my desk, in my planner, etc.) is always preferred! AU has created a fresh take on these common household items with their new calendar series, including modern, signature, and traditional styles.

The calendars are the perfect size – 7.5 inches tall – to fit just about anywhere. The color of the clipboard is so (beautifully) unusual; Artifact shares why: “The woodblocks are handcrafted in Colorado using solid dead-fall beetle-kill pine reclaimed from our Colorado forests. Due to the unique nature of the wood, all wood surfaces will vary slightly and may include knots and unique markings, including a blue-gray area on the wood. This discoloration indicates the beetle kill part of the wood, and is what we consider a beauty mark that symbolizes a better choice for the environment.” Very cool, right? I always prefer unique things as opposed to cookie-cutter, and this company seems to feel the same way. Bonus points for protecting the earth!

I chose to create a modern wood calendar, and the process couldn’t have been simpler. I picked my 12 photos, uploaded to their design program, and dragged and dropped onto each month’s page. That’s it! The ‘Auto-fill’ option is available for an even faster solution (if you can believe there’s one!). It was incredibly convenient to be able to create my calendar directly on their site, as opposed to downloading an editing/ordering program that many other companies require. They also provide two editing sidebars, where you may change the opacity, add a border color, include text, etc. I can’t imagine what else you would need in making this product – Artifact Uprising thought of it all!

I received my calendar within a week, and couldn’t be happier with the final product. I chose pictures to feature that were from the same month last year, so I could do a little reminiscing each time I checked the date!

I absolutely love this company and couldn’t recommend them more highly. Please visit their site and print those photos!

Be sure to check out the rest of the series!!
