Photography Business Tips

Thank you for joining me here at Erin Rachel Photography for photography business tips.  As photographers and business owners we are always looking for easy ways to boost our business and reach more people.  I had the privilege of working with Rebecca of Bloggers Bazaar for my newsletter template (if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter go NOW to my blog and simply put in your email address)and was blown away with her ease in communication, quick response and fast turn around!  We hit it off, none-the-less! Rebecca is sharing with us today….and be sure to read through her tips because at the end is a special GIVE-AWAY!!!!!!

4 Reasons why your business needs an email newsletter

  1. Getting into someone’s inbox is very powerful

Many businesses and consumers these days use email extensively. It’s a super handy, simple and direct tool for communicating and being able to get your message into the inbox of your target audience is a very powerful thing. Apart from the odd spam, people read their emails and usually only sign up for things they love and are interested in. Therefore, being able to tailor your message and speak directly to your audience, promote your products and launch new ones via email is a very direct way to connect with your audience. On other social media platforms, such as Facebook, your updates are competing with hundreds of others and the likelihood of all your audience seeing your message is very small. If you create interesting, well designed emails that offer your audience newsworthy information and exclusive tips and offers, this is a very powerful way to get your message out there directly into the inboxes of your audience.

  1. You can make your audience feel like a close friend and part of your journey

Building strong relationships that make your audience feel like part of your business and involved in your journey is a key ingredient of running a successful business. When it comes to email newsletters, you have the opportunity to show up consistently in your readers inboxes, to make them feel privileged by offering exclusive discounts as they are part of your tribe, and you are able to address them personally so that it feels like an email between friends. This builds trust and a loyal following that love and support and share what you do.

  1. It’s a very affordable way to deliver your message and advertise to your audience

As opposed to expensive online, print and billboard advertising, sending out a newsletter is a very affordable way to deliver your message. Many email providers offer a free service for the first few thousands subscribers and then charge a minimal monthly fee when your email database grows larger than this. So compared to other forms of advertising it is a very affordable medium for promotion. You also have great flexibility in how you can deliver your message when you are using email. For example, if you have a product specifically for females in a certain location, you can create a segment of your email list and promote directly to the people that fall within that group.desk-above

  1. It’s very easy to track and analyze everything

Using email makes it very easy to track, analyze and discover what works best for your business. You can easily see where a majority of your sign-ups come from, which campaigns work the best to promote sign-ups, how many of your emails are opened, click-through rates in your emails, unsubscribe rates and feedback, social media shares, which subject lines work the best for you plus a whole lot more! Knowing this information and utilizing it to build your emails and marketing campaigns is a very powerful tool that you don’t often have with more traditional forms of advertising, such as print advertising.

How to get started – There are a few large players in the field that I would recommend. Mailchimp is the platform I have worked on for years and absolutely love. AWeber and GetResponse are also some great alternatives. Sign-up, have a good look around and jump into the support forums for simple tutorials on how to set up your own emails.

Get a professionally designed email template – If you are looking for something a little more professional and polished, get an email template professionally designed. If you are interested, you can check out the package details here and book in a spot for your very own beautifully designed email newsletter.
