Thank you Council For Responsible Nutrition for sponsoring this post. I am proud to be one of the 170 million Americans who take dietary supplements each year!
“What a teacher is, is more important than what he teaches”
“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart”
“The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”
“It takes a big heart to shape little minds”
“Strive for progress not perfection”
“You are making a difference everyday”
These are just a few of my favorite quotes that I have collected along the way from the past 20+ years of teaching. I wish I could count up the number of students I’ve had over the years but honestly there are too many to name…from teaching private music lessons to 50+ kids a year, to teaching in my local church classes, to influencing teen girls in our weekly bible study…the list goes on and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I love love love teaching and I love love love seeing minds shaped and hearts touched through the years.
From teaching has come some of my best and most valued friendships which I will cherish for years to come. Yet impacting others comes with great responsibility at the same time, so we have to learn to take care of ourselves!
Impact Others by Taking Time for Yourself
Through all of these years of teaching, giving of my energy and self to these kids/students I learned the hard way that I still need to take care of myself too…making my health important for myself and my family is imperative. Taking dietary supplements has allowed me to be proactive in my overall wellness to enhance my efforts to eat right and stay active!
Here are a few of my top priorities when it comes to choosing the right dietary supplements for me.
1 – Sustained Energy
Don’t go for the crash and burn energy…that never sustains or works over a long period of time! Rather, try to prevent burnout throughout the year – especially as we enter the winter months! There are specific dietary supplements that can help support your mood and increase your energy. Honestly there are so many choices when it comes to dietary supplements, so it would be wise on your part to talk with your doctor or healthcare practitioner to discuss what supplements are best for you.
2- Proper Sleep
Everyone is different but for me personally, to function well the following day, sleep is a mandatory asset to me! I like to use a specialty supplement called melatonin, which I take each night!
3- Overall Health
Taking a multivitamin sure helps my daily and overall health. The multivitamin is the most popular dietary supplement, with 73 percent of supplement users taking one, according to a 2017 survey from the Council for Responsible Nutrition.
4- Exercise
Exercise is a part of my daily schedule…my go-to is walking or if weather doesn’t permit I’ll do an aerobics video routine instead. Either option I always feel so much better and energized…so maintaining exercise throughout the year creates a healthy habit for me along with a balanced diet. Dietary supplement users are more likely to engage in these healthy habits (i.e. exercise and diet) than non-users, according to a 2017 survey from the Council for Responsible Nutrition.
