Thank you Goliath Games for sponsoring this post. Pick up your favorite game today to enjoy the holiday season and beyond!
Last week we invited all of our cousins for a game and pizza party. Let me tell you…a week later they are still talking about it and laughing…and adding these games to their very own Christmas wish lists!
The kids were familiar with Pop the Pig®, by Goliath Games! This is the #2 best-selling new kids game of the last 6 years, so they’ve played it before….but…that doesn’t mean they didn’t still get a kick out of this big pig…feeding the pig, and pushing down on his head…each pump makes his belly grow bigger, bigger and bigger until…POP!
Shark Bite by Pressman Toy, was a fun one too. This one they started playing all by themselves! They took turns rolling the die and fishing for the colorful sea creatures using the fishing rod…then all of a sudden we’d hear a burst of giggles…watch out – you never know when the shark bite!
The all time favorite was Giggle Wiggle which is a cute caterpillar with several hands to spare. Lots of wiggles, fun music and active challenge that will have kids laughing and dancing as they are playing the game. A great game for honing in on some fine motor skills for your littles.
Catch the Fox…feed this greedy fox! Stuffing the chickens into his pockets…But when there are too many chickens, his pants will fall down and the chickens will escape! Roll the die to see how many chickens to add into the fox’s pockets, and push his head one time. Before you know it, the fox will lose his pants and the chickens will roll everywhere!
Last but not least…the game that got the most laughs and giggles of the day! Doggie Doo- Feed your doggie, and squeeze the leash. After he makes his gassy sounds – plop! If you are the player who cleaned up the doo, you get a token. The player who has the most tokens at the end of the game wins!
We wrapped our party up with yummy pizza, juice and of course playing outside while the weather was gorgeous.
I set the table with each of them having their own place setting with:
- Pizza Plate
- Snack Plate
- Snack Bar
- Party hat
- Name tag with a fun little welcome quote
- Party favor bag
The table centerpiece was the games/boxes and them seeing those had them continually laughing and talking about each game. I added in some extra pom-pom garland and a small bucket of extra juice pouches and a tray of extra snacks! You can make your table as elaborate or as simple as you wish. Although using the games as the centerpiece really helped me cut back on planning a table scape or even buying items for a table scape. My motto- keep it simple!
