Forget Boring Lunches

Growing up I always remember those special lunches where my mom would drop in a handwritten note.  I don’t remember the food – the snacks – or the juice box…I remember the special note.  It seems it always came to me on the perfect day, as I opened my lunch box I’d be thrilled to see this note.  My only regret is I wish I had kept those!!!

So now my new goal this coming school year is to wipe away the boredom for lunch and bring mealtime fun back with Mardi Gras paper napkins!  Have you seen these adorable paper napkins?!?!

Since I send my husband off every day (to teach high school at a private school) I always pack his lunch and most days I send him with a little happy note.  It makes me happy because I know he looks forward to it and gives him a smile during the middle of his hectic day.  In conversation he’s told me before that that is one of his favorite little things I do for him…so that only makes me happier!

Now with these adorable Mardi Gras conversation napkins I can keep the conversation going…I will pack him a fun napkin and on this little printable I created (free to you HERE) I’m going to have him text me his answers…I think that’s going to be fun and keep it light and less boring for lunch time.

Now that I’m homeschooling my little preschooler I try to make our lunch time a little less boring these days too. I tried one just today and it was amazing the conversation it gave us over our lunch! Something as simple as “what are you thankful for today?”  This could be a conversation that would last us all day and if you’re in a classroom it could spark some clever conversations throughout the day!
