As a mom so much is on our shoulders to create a home and lifestyle that is healthy for not only ourselves but for our families.
I want my home to be a peaceful home, a home that is warm and inviting and that anyone and everyone feels welcome. There is something to be said when you have guests in your home and they truly feel comfortable and “right at home”. Today I’m sharing a few tips on which I strive to do this.
Outdoor Time- we try to spend as much time outside as we can. We love being outdoors…whether it’s a walk, bike ride, a picnic, swinging, sliding, kicking the ball, playing in the water when it’s hot, working outside in our yard or even eating dinner outside.
There is something about being in the great outdoors. It’s refreshing. It’s good for the soul.
Our Health- If we are taking care of ourselves with our exercise, foods, supplements and health it certainly creates an environment within our home where everyone is in better moods!

Less Screen Time- More creative play and imaginative play is certainly our goal. We don’t have a tv…we do have a computer we will watch little shows on from time to time, but we don’t make the tv the center of our home. Have you ever noticed most homes you walk in and all of the furniture and whole set up is geared around the tv? Consider making your focus something different in your home, to create a relaxing and peaceful environment.
Quiet Time- During the morning time we have quiet time. I do my devotions while my little one usually reads or colors. It’s just a time we shut it all off, the house is quiet and we focus. This helps us to have a slow time and just slow down in our fast paced life.
Find something you enjoy doing and set time aside to do just that. I love journaling and I have to set time aside to do this, but when I do something that I enjoy, even for just a short time, I feel so refreshed and energized.
Celebrate- Whatever the occasion or holiday we try to celebrate BIG. I’m working on doing this better in our home, but I’m trying! Go all out for the occasion, create cheer and happiness…create excitement and create a positive focus towards the celebration and your loved ones.
