The BEST Preschool counting books to read to your toddler and preschooler as they learn numbers and counting through literacy.

For our preschool homeschool curriculum I choose a theme to our books every few weeks.  Thankfully our library is awesome and I can pre-order these books and pick them up, which as I mentioned in my last Alphabet Book post saves me a ton of time and energy!  Read more of my secret on this library trick –> Alphabet Books for Preschoolers Mom Approved!

Preschool Counting Books

This weeks theme for our homeschool reading was preschool counting books.  So all of our books had to do with numbers and counting.  This was just an avenue to reinforce numbers, counting and visually seeing and recognizing numbers.

We certainly came out with a few favorites (like Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons) that I have added to our list to buy and keep here at our own personal home library!  There were a couple of counting books that I checked out that I wasn’t impressed with so I’m leaving those off as not to waste your time – so this list is totally preschool and toddler approved as well as Mom approved!

TIP: Be sure to interact with these books and take a few extra minutes to count with your preschooler as you read…this helps engage them, create not only a visual aspect of learning but a verbal and hands on
