Have you booked spring pictures and not sure what you are wearing for portraits? Sharing tips on what to wear for spring family pictures including what to wear for Easter pictures.
As we step into spring…we are shedding layers of clothes, pulling out our bright colors and scheduling easter and spring pictures. Now the looming question lingers in your mind – “What to wear for Easter pictures” or “What to Wear for Spring Family Pictures” I get it…the struggle is real so as you are choosing outfits and colors to wear I hope these tips will help you.
What to Wear for Spring Family Pictures
1- Texture
Be sure to have some layers, texture, dimension in your pictures! Layer your son with a t-shirt and a denim button down over it, your daughter to have a belt that adds a pop of color, or as in this image mom has texture/layer on her top. Spring is harder to layer because we are always so ready for cooler/summer-y type clothes, but throwing some layers in there provides the texture. Think hats for boys, a light airy scarf for girls, leggings with a ruffled skirt, necklaces…think layers!
2- Choose 2-3 complimentary colors that YOU like.

These are great photography tips all around! We did family portraits when I was 5 or 6 years old, and we rocked the white and khaki. How very 90s of us! I love #7. That’s a great general fashion/design tip.

Absolutely LOVE these tips, especially since my husband and I just had photos taken last weekend and I was reminded just how little I know about clothing styling. 😉 Our photographer was all about layering and textures, and I know that’s going to be something I take to future photoshoots to help others because we not only had a lot of fun, but the photos look amazing!

Great tips! Sometimes it’s SO hard to figure out what to wear. There are so many choices out there but combining them for the family can be easier said than done. I find it easiest to choose one person’s outfit that you really love and then build the others based on that.

I love the cream and coral combo in the bottom picture! We will be having family pictures taken in May after I have my baby girl, so this is very helpful. Thank you.

I’m not going to gush over your pictures like I usually do, but they are SO good! It may just be me, but I’ve never understood why most people that have pictures taken on the beach wear khaki and white. They are the same color of the sand and I think they look washed out. I do hope you post what to wear in summer pictures, too. This is great stuff!
