We had a fun play date with our cousins at the splash pad. Poor thing, it was cold on this morning and she was happier wrapped up in her towel, eating snacks with her cousins. Now that I know she loves these Gerber Farm Greens Veggie Crisps I’m on the lookout for the Orange Harvest Veggie Crisps to add to our snack bag next!
Since our little E goes through phases of quirky eating habits. As any typical toddler does, one day you can’t fill her up the next day she barely eats…one day she loves a certain food the next day she spits it out and looks at me like why would you even feed me that! You know…the typical ups and downs of a toddler – oh what joy!
At the same time…she’s also a typical toddler in that she will eat snacks all day long, if I would let her. She tends to like the salty snacks better than sweets, which I’m thrilled about! Not only for the fact she doesn’t consume sugar all day but the idea that I’m a salty snacker too…so she and I can kill an order of fries together! All of that to say I still watch her snacks and I don’t let her snack all day, otherwise she won’t eat her meals. So it’s a balance…and as a mom finding that happy balance is challenging some days. None the less I have found these amazing Gerber Organic Veggie crisps at Walmart!!!
annndddd the good news…she loves them!!! It’s available in two different varieties AND snack size bags. I love this for when we’re on the go or having a play date! One of those convenient things for a mom, grab and go! Plus organic veggies for the win!
So my BEST ways of sneaking in veggies for her diet:
1- Snacks i.e. as the Gerber Organic Veggie Crisps, try them.
2- Smoothies – make a yummy smoothie and add a handful of spinach or carrots along with fruit!
3- Popsicles – Kind of like the smoothie make it a popsicle…add some good veggies in there and blend it with fruits – they’ll never know!
4- At the same time, during meal time I always continually introduce vegetables and ask her to try them. Sometimes she likes them and sometimes she doesn’t. I think introducing and reintroducing is always a healthy meal idea.
What are you favorite ways and tricks when it comes to feeding toddlers veggies?
