Creating an Outdoor space around our home that is inviting and welcoming is important to our lifestyle. Thanks to Roundup® For Lawns for sponsoring this post today.
There are several ways my husband and I work together to create an outdoor space that not only we love but also our family and friends that come over for fun.
#1- Spruce up your Yard
My husband has been working extra hard on getting our yard cleaned up (like buying a new weed eater and babying our new grass coming up in our field/side yard). There is something about spring time that is invigorating to get the new mulch out in the flower beds, new flowers planted around the walk way, trim back bushes that are growing out of control, fertilize your yard, combat the weeds in your yard and just spruce it up all together. This takes a little time but in the end it’s so worth it! This season we used Roundup® For Lawns which was perfect for killing our weeds, not our lawn!!!! What my husband loved about the Roundup For Lawns is that they have a southern formula that is specific to our grass down here in South Mississippi – there is a northern formula as well.! Your local store stocks the specific formula for your region, so this took the guesswork out of deciding which formula to use on our grass type! WIN!
#2 Activities
This may seem silly but when we have friends over that have kids the same age as ours we definitely feel like you need to have something for them to do!! Earlier this month we got a small pool – because who doesn’t like cool water to play in when it’s hot! I hit up the dollar racks at our local store and got a bucket, shovel, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and a ball. These simple toys create imaginative outdoor play for our little one and we love that. Since she’s our first-born we also came across a great deal on a swing set and snagged that for her. She’s been loving her new slide and swing….she goes up the ladder and down the slide all by herself…about 100 times each day…we’ve had great naps and night time sleeping!
#3 Good Eats
Who doesn’t like good food? I have been keeping popsicles, snacks and box drinks on hand for our friends that come over to play. This keeps them having fun and enjoying some yummy treats. This time of year we also love to grill out with family and friends, trying new grilling recipes and hamburger recipes is our favorite! We have certainly hit the jackpot on some of these new tasty recipes! Get creative and enjoy cooking outside during these months that the weather is pretty. It’s also a great family (husband/wife) activity!
