tips for a photography business

There’s an African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”  This proverb speaks so loud to me, and I took it as personal advice on my photography business. So here are my advices on how to succeed in your business.  Do you want to be successful in your Photography?

tips to a successful business

Here are 3 key tips on how to grow your photography business!

Key # 1 COLLABORATION

A Great Dream Requires A Great Team -Dan Cumberland

Whether you are new in the field or have years of experience under your belt, collaboration is the key to taking your game even higher. Be around inspiring and creative people, it will bring a whole new game and a whole new you. It will force you to share your ideas while giving you space to bounce ideas around. In addition, collaborating with other artists or professionals in the industry means your ideas can be even better, taking them to a whole new level you would not have come up with on your own. It will force you to grow.

Key # 2 COLLABORATORS AND COLLABORATE

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success. —Henry Ford

Have you heard before “give and you will receive”? Collaborators are you and the professionals that surround you. Look at your photography industry. It all depends on what your market is, but look for stylists, hair & make-up artists, other photographers, clothing stores/lines or even a crafty friend in your area. Contact these people to create something beautiful. Think of their needs along with your needs and express all the ideas with your gift  of photography. Collaborators in other fields will make the styling & creation of the shot living in your head come to life in its best form. Reach out to them with all your ideas and they will become reality.

Key # 3 Don’t be afraid to Reach out to others

You can do a lot by yourself but you can do the impossible with a great team. – unknown

Not sure how to reach out to others?  Here is an easy step by step.

  • Make a list of the Professionals around you.
  • Make a list of ideas and present them to them.

It will help you come out of your shell, frees your ego, it will expand your horizons and your comfort zone. It will challenge you in so many ways, will expand your audience and will help you to fulfill your dreams. You will grow in your gifts and your weaknesses, and when we grow we succeed!

grow your photography businessGuest Blogger: Carmen Reese

Hi, I am Carmen from Carmen Reese Photography, based in Cornelius, NC! I am extremely happy and I feel blessed about Erin Rachael Photography’s invitation of being a Guest blogger for Sixth Bloom’s. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you Erin.

I’m a lifestyle Photographer. Photographing newborns, children, seniors and families in the most natural of ways. Natural light and environmental settings create images that speak in the simplest of terms, but with volumes of emotion. Documenting the details, the moments, and the beauty of my tiny subjects and the ones who loves them, I create photographs that will be treasured for a lifetime. My husband and I recently moved to Cornelius, NC where we are absolutely falling in love with the South.
