In exchange for our honest review Extended Stay America complimented us with our stay in Baton Rouge, LA.

This past week we had a grand time with friends exploring Baton Rouge LA and found some really fun things to do with the kids while there.  I have found when traveling that finding activities for the kids to do is always on top of our list now.  The whole family ends up having a blast and most cities have so many great family friendly spots to hit up.baton rouge la travel with kids

Before I hit on what we did, where we went and what I recommend…can I say first that where you stay makes all of the difference in the world!  Our trip stay was at Extended Stay America and the staff was so beyond friendly, so accommodating and treated us like queens.  I will hit on this a bit more on down…but

If you are looking for a vacation in the future you can snag up to 40% yes you heard me right up to 40% OFF any length of stay at all Extended Stay America hotels with promo code MC8SB. Book here now through 3/31/18.

1- Visit the Mothership Raising Cane’s – treat yourself to some finger licking chicken fingers at the original Raising Cane’s.  If you have never been it’s a treat and read up on the history of Raising Cane’s before you go…so inspiring!family friendly baton rouge la family friendly baton rouge la what to do in baton rouge

2- Feed the Ducks at City Park – grab some old bread or whatever you have on hand and have a blast!to do kids baton rouge la family travel baton rouge la

3- Plan your stay at a family friendly location – Thanks to Extended Stay America we had a great spot to crash for nap times and night time. I enjoy staying with Extended Stay America because as a mom having a small kitchen and the access to washer/dryer is invaluable to me.  I can slap together a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for a picnic or wash a load of clothes before we head home!

4- Eat Doughnuts – head to District Doughnuts and enjoy the best ever doughnuts and grab you a cup of coffee while you’re at it…or if you want a cheeseburger…really anything you get from District is ah-mazing and on point!what to do with kids in baton rouge baton rouge family activities baton rouge family activities baton rouge family activities baton rouge family activities family children baton rouge la family children baton rouge la

5- Nature Walk – explore God’s creation and go on a nature walk.  Right by  Extended Stay America was the perfect walking bridge for us to walk on and explore!  The girls had a blast, can you tell?family children baton rouge la to do kids baton rouge la to do kids baton rouge la to do kids baton rouge la to do kids baton rouge la

6- Knock Knock Museum – plan to spend a day at the Knock Knock Museum.  You can come and go once you pay for admission, it opens at 10 but if you can bump it to around lunch it will most likely be a lot less crowded.  We went on in at 10:30 ish with the crowd and endured but by lunch time the crowd vanished!  We had the place to ourselves!  The girls had a GRAND time and I did too to say the least.  Bring a picnic lunch and eat outside, we had a great time.what to do with kids in baton rouge what to do with kids in baton rouge what to do with kids in baton rouge

8- Plan a picnic lunch – as much fun as it is to try new cafe’s and restaurants there is nothing like packing a peanut butter and jelly and eating out under the blue skies and sunshine.

The next 6 things were HIGHLY recommended to me several times by different individuals, but our time didn’t allow…I’m sticking them back for our next visit!

9- Carousel Ride – Go to Mall of Louisiana and let the kids ride the carousel!

10- Visit Mike the Tiger – whether you are an LSU fan or not the kids love seeing Mike!

11– Baton Rouge Zoo – I heard it’s a great zoo, not too big and not too small.

12 – Splash Pad – Greenwood Community Park is right around the zoo and has a splash pad!

13- Hit up a Baseball Game

14 – Visit Ambrosia Bakery

9- Bring Friends – I know this is really “something to do in Baton Rouge” but I can guarantee you that everything is always better with friends!what to do in baton rouge kids activities baton rouge la
