5 Fantastic Tools to aid in your Facebook Pages you Manage
First I have to confess…this blog post was NOT scheduled for today. I had written an article over the weekend for todays post. I liked the article. But this morning when I jumped online I saw Facebook had made some good changes to our business Pages. I wanted to share these with you all along with a few others you may or may not have already known about.
Sooooo…I hope since I’m changing gears this morning that you will benefit more from this post today than the other. I’m hoping-and heres to crossing my fingers.
Sooooo…if you’re a business that has a Facebook fan page that you manage…you are probably like everyone else that is talking. Facebook is falling in our numbers, views, likes, shares, comments, showing up in feeds and the list goes on. It does stink because they spoiled us several years back when it was the rage and such a helpful tool in a small business. Yet they are a business and I get it…
Why yes we think we have some ground to stand on and complain…lets face it, it’s a free platform. Facebook can do what they want!
I’m guilty…I’ll raise my hand…I’ve complained about them before. They let me get used to them being so awesome and then they change. Change isn’t always easy…but change isn’t always bad either, like we view it. Embrace the change and make it work…and work with it.
Right?
Agree? If you agree you can keep reading…
Well guess what? There are 4 new things they are getting right these days and one bonus I’d like to share as the more I talk to other business owners they knew nothing of this tool. So here’s a run down of a few things I’m happy Facebook is doing for us, as I’d like to applause them by sharing these tools with you.
1- Pages can now easily comment from any page you manage.
Yippee by the click of a button or ehhh flag (seen at the bottom right of this picture) you can comment straight from your feed yet choose if you want to comment as yourself…being a human being…or your business or any other page you may manage!
Thank you Facebook for freeing up our time and not having to go back and forth on accounts and see entirely different news feeds etc.
2- When posting a status from your personal/home feed.
You can now simply click the picture icon off to the right of your “status/photo/event” and click the icon picture you wish to post from!
Woohoo Facebook again thank you for saving us some time by just simply being able to click one button!
3- By the click of a button…
You can now like or comment on your own status in replying to comments from our personal profile or our business profile…or for that matter any other page your manage.
Hey folks do you see the beauty yet?
4- One of my all time favorites these days.
CONFESSION! I am one of those obnoxious people that will ask anyone to “like” my Facebook page. Yep I do…doesn’t mean I have super high numbers but if we’re “friends” on my personal profile most likely you’ll get an invite to my business page.
Well now on your business page if you will click where it shows all who have liked your image and then says “58 others” (as below on this image) A new screen will pop up…
Like this one (below)…showing you each individual profile who has “Liked” this image/post. If the profile/person has already liked your fan page it will show you in a light grey box-LIKED. If you have already been obnoxious and invited them it will show you in a light grey box “INVITED”. If they are new to the page and have only simply liked your post you have a bold black box that says “INVITE”. Click that box and invite that new face over to your page. You will begin to see your numbers climb. Not everyone will respond, but most will!
Before I go any further. Lets stop and say THANK YOU FACEBOOK!
Again we complain so many times but hey they are getting some things right for us these days to aid and help us out! Agree?
Lastly…
5- Schedule posts
Oh I love this feature. Freeing us business owners from having to STAY on social media or feel like we have to hop online to post at a certain time.
Before I go any further. This is NOT NEW! Yet the more I talk to other photographers or business page owners/managers they have no clue of about this tip and I get excited to tell anyone. So I’m adding it as a bonus on this post!
On your Pages you manage you can SCHEDULE your posts! Yep so you can sit down and schedule an entire day, week, month or hour worth of posts. Simply type your status as you would any other post. Then you will see the small clock icon (bottom left). Click on that icon and the “Schedule Post” box will pop up…allowing you to choose what date and what time you want to see this status posted and launched!
No fear if you realize you don’t want it posted at that time you can go back in later and adjust the time or cancel it. You aren’t stuck for life with a Facebook post gone bad!
I use this feature most everyday to post each status for the day. I will use it for several days if I’m going to be on vacation or out of town where I know my internet service will be spotty. Frees up so much time…because if you’re like me once you get on Facebook to post you then have wasted the next hour of your precious life looking at your silly news feed. Yep…I KNOW I’m not the only one there on that one!!!!
I hope these tips and tricks that I’ve learned and am passing on are a help to you.
If they are new for you I’d love to hear from you…or simply just SHARE this post so others can learn about these tools and benefit from them.
Have a fantatstic Tuesday and lets stand up and applaud Facebook together. Will you?
