As we’ve wrapped up our #GoodbyeSugar30 Challenge with SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener, I can’t wait to share with you all about our journey! If you’re just joining me on this journey be sure to visit SplendaNaturals.com to learn more and also head to my first post to see what we set out to do! –> 30 Days Without Sugar Part 1
I want to share with you a few of our weaknesses or failures along with our victories! I’m also going to be sharing a few of our new favorite recipes we tried! If you’d like to try SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener it’s available at retail stores nationwide in 40 and 80 count boxes. If you’re familiar with some stevia sweeteners you might have noticed they have a bitter aftertaste where SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener is sweet – without the calories, added flavors or artificial ingredients and has no bitter aftertaste.
You know, lets be honest, it’s not easy completely coming OFF of all sugars! I can do it Monday – Friday when I’m in my normal routine and at home, for the most part. It’s when the weekend comes and we’re on the run or want to go out on a date night and the hubby says – hey do you want to split a dessert…*face palm*! How do I tell him no?! So I’ll be honest I mainly got off board on the weekends, but I’d quickly jump right back on board and get my mindset going for the next day. I feel it’s ok to have a cheat every now and then, but make SURE you are mentally prepped to jump right back in!
I met several of my goals, YAY! I could definitely tell my energy levels are better without refined sugar in my diet! I am a believer in that and I did lose a few pounds, which always makes me happy!
One of the biggest questions I got from fellow friends who jumped on board with me was…what do you put in your coffee?!? I like the vanilla/coconut almond milk added in for some flavor and then a packet of the SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener did it for me! I think it’s dependent on your taste buds and what you grow to enjoy! Yet I can’t give up coffee so I knew there was a solution!
We love chicken salad and tuna salad, those kinds of dishes for lunch! So I was on a mission to find one that would work for us plus one that would change it up a bit! I found it!!!!
- 1 1/2 c. (cooked) shredded chicken
- 2 Slices of Cooked Bacon- crumbled
- 1/2 c. Apple- chopped
- 1/2 c. Grapes- sliced
- 1/4 c. Almonds - sliced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 c Plain Greek Yogurt
- Combine all ingredients until mixed well. If you prefer your salad to be creamier add more plain Greek yogurt to satisfy your taste.
- Top with a few almonds!
- Serve with Tomatoes, Avocados or on a bed of lettuce.
Our favorite supper recipe has become White Chicken Chili (we love to heat it up for lunch too!)
Do you have any whole 30/recipes without sugar you can share with me?! I’m up to try new recipes and I’d love to hear what you love!
